Is The IRS The ‘New Gestapo’?

Governor Paul LePage of Maine is making news for allegedly referring to the IRS as the “new Gestapo” Saturday, after blasting the president’s overhaul of our health care system.
http://news.yahoo.com/gestapo-maine-gov-blasts-massive-expansion-irs-agents-051608267.html
He reportedly said:

This tax will add to the $500 billion in tax increases that are already in Obamacare. Now that Congress can use the taxation power of the federal government to compel behavior or lack thereof, what’s next? More taxes if we don’t drive Toyota Priuses or if we eat too much junk food or maybe even pea soup?

This decision has made America less free. ‘We The People’ have been told there is no choice. You must buy health insurance or pay the new Gestapo – the I.R.S.

Even more disheartening is that reviving the American dream just became nearly impossible to do. We are now a nation in which supports dependency rather than independence. Instead of encouraging self-reliance we are encouraging people to rely on the government.  [Emphasis added].

LePage has a history of making inflammatory remarks, saying the NAACP could “kiss his butt” in 2011, and that Barack Obama could “go to hell” in 2010.  At Maine’s GOP convention in 2012 he told the unemployed to “get off the couch and get yourself a job,” to a standing ovation from the crowd.

Watch the NAACP comment, below:

Maine’s Democratic Party Chairman Ben Grant demanded a full apology for the remarks, saying:

“We’ve come to expect a bunch of nonsense from Gov. LePage, but this is a step too far. There appears now to be no limit to the extreme language he will use to misinform, degrade and insult people. Somebody needs to explain to him that he’s the governor of a state, and not a talk radio host.”

According to the House Ways and Means Committee, the IRS will be adding 16,500 new auditors, agents, and other employees to “investigate and collect billions in new taxes from Americans.”

Feds stock up, I stock up. Pretty!
Feds stock up, I stock up. Pretty!
Nothing warms me up in the morning like the idea that the IRS is preparing a swat team equipped with pump action shotguns. I guess Urkel thinks they’re gonna have to start shooting at us to squeeze what we have left out of us? This at least certainly suggests the days of accountants fighting it out may be over.

Already our economy is staggering under the weight of taxation. But if we are to make even a dent in the bills Comrade Obama is running up with his ongoing looting spree, tax rates will have to shoot through the stratosphere. Eventually confiscatory taxation will become so outrageous that people will begin to remember that we are supposedly free Americans, not slaves of the greed-addled socialists running the federal government. The IRS is preparing for this eventuality by stocking up on short-barrel shotguns:

Fourteen-inch barrel, huh? Anything less than 18 inches is illegal for us tax slaves.
So much for the consent of the governed. The crew in Washington now are on the record as agreeing with history’s most bloodthirsty tyrant that “power comes from the barrel of a gun.”
Government is coercion. As this story reminds us, everything it does boils down to a bureaucrat hiring a thug to poke a shotgun in your belly. This is why the Founding Fathers went to such lengths to constrain its power — and why our current rulers are systematically destroying those constraints.

Pay your taxes or you may get to see what these look like with shorter barrels.

The US Government Has Ordered Over 750 Million Rounds of .40 Caliber Hollow Point Ammunition in the Last Three Years

In the last three years numerous domestic US government agencies have ordered a total of over 750 million rounds of .40 caliber ammunition.
That’s right, multiple government agencies that specifically operate primary inside the United States have gone on a literal ammunition spending spree in preparation for what they must believe will be some sort of violent event.
In 2009, Winchester Ammunition was awarded a contract to supply the Department of Homeland Security with 200 million rounds of .40 caliber hollow point ammunition.
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Winchester Ammunition was recently awarded a contract by the Immigration, Customs and Enforcement (ICE) division of the Department of Homeland Security to supply a maximum of 200 million, 40 cal. rounds over the next five years. Source
This huge ammunition order was apparently only the beginning.
In early March 2012 ATK won an indefinite delivery contract to supply DHS with a whooping 450 million more .40 caliber hollow point rounds.
ATK has secured a major Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity deal to supply up to 450 million rounds of .40 caliber ammunition to the Department of Homeland Security.
The 1 year contract with four option years comes at a time when many Americans believe that DHS, along with certain aspects of the military, will soon turn their sights on the American people during some sort of martial law scenario.
“We are proud to extend our track record as the prime supplier of .40 caliber duty ammunition for DHS, ICE,” said Ron Johnson, the president of ATK’s Security and Sporting group,” reported a PR Newswire release.
The Department of Homeland Security is not the only US agency openly stocking up on .40 caliber ammo.
In November 2011 the FBI posted a request to the FBO.gov website for up to 100,000,000 rounds of hollow point ammunition.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) reserves the right to make multiple award under RFP-OSCU-TD2WP7101 for a fixed price indefinite-delivery indefinite-quantity type contract.
The anticipated period of performance will be for one (1) base year and four (4) possible one-year options. The contractor will provide commercial, “off-the-shelf” .40 caliber ammunition compatible with pistols currently used by the FBI.
Not to be left out of the ammunition stocking spree, the US Forest Service recently purchased 320,000 rounds of ammo and, for their part, the US Fish and Wildlife Service is seeking an additional 13,500 rounds.

(5) .223 caliber, 64 grain, 87,500 rounds or equivalent,
(6) 12 gauge 00 buck, 15,000 rounds or equivalent,

(8) 9 caliber frangible, 10,000 rounds or equivalent,

(10) 12 gauge 1 oz slug, 7,500 rounds or equivalent
The cartridges shall be delivered to Albuquerque, NM.
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Services require the following items, Exact Match Only, to the following:
1. Remington Frangible .40 Caliber Pistol Ammunition – 2,500 rounds
2. Remington .40 Caliber Pistol Ammunition (180 grain) Full Metal Jacket – 6,000 rounds
3. Remington .223 Caliber Rifle Ammunition (62 grain) Full Metal Jacket – 3,000 rounds
4. Remington FX Marking Cartridges (9 mm) – 2,000 rounds
Why is the US government buying millions of rounds of hollow point bullets specifically for use in domestic operations while at the same time attempting to label everyday gun owning Americans as possible terrorists?

Following a DHS order for 450 million rounds of .40 caliber shells a source says the Feds are buying up all military surplus ammo and ordering stores to cease sales.

Just days ago a military ammunition supplier announced that the Department of Homeland Security had entered a contract to purchase 450 million rounds of .40 Caliber ammunition, which is more than on bullet for every man, woman and child in the United States.

While the news is startling and one can only speculate on the reason Homeland security needs so much ammunition an even more alarming report has surfaced today.
According to an anonymous source the federal government is buying out all ammunition from military surplus stores and says vendors have told him they have been instructed to cease sales of ammunition to the public.
The source claims to have contacted numerous military surplus stores in an attempt to purchase 5.56 ammo and has been repeatedly informed the stores are sold out because the federal government is buying out all surplus ammo.
The vendors are also sold out of Federal M193 and M855 SS109 ammunition and military surplus suppliers and say that any remaining supply of 5.56 ammunition and .223 caliber is about to spike significantly in price due to the shortage being created by the government.
The source points out that  after recently purchasing 440 rounds of  federal surplus steel core ammo for $149.00 the price has now skyrocketed to over $440.00 for the same amount of ammunition.
While all of this is coming from an unreliable anonymous source I am putting it out there in case the claims are true.

Subject: Government buying out all the 5.56 Military surplus ammo and is telling ammo dealers to stop selling to their vendors and civilians.
I have been calling allot of ammo distributors and ALL of them are telling me that our government is [buying out] all the 5.56-.223 cal military surplus ammo. And they’re also telling the ammo distributors stop selling the ammo to civilians and their vendors because the government is buying it all up from everyone they can. I have also spoken with theses ammo dealers and they told me that the 5.56 and .223 ammo is going way up in price.
For instance…I paid $149.00 for federal surplus 440 rounds of steel core and now at the gun show today it was selling for $440.00 for 420 rounds. I have checked and ALLOT of places online are out of the Military surplus ammo by federal [including] M193 and M855 SS109 ammo. I did find one place still carrying both these ammo’s and good prices still, but they’re the only place I could find. If interested let me know and Ill forward the info.
I was also told by the same ammo dealers that the government is going to buy all the 9mm and .45 ammo up, so hurry and buy while you can at the lower prices while still available. Guess if they won’t take our guns because they figure that there are some many out there, they will just buy all most popular military calibers. Can’t shoot a gun with no ammo…stock up now while you still can.

DHS Posts Survey Prior to Bids on .357 SIG Duty Ammunition

The Department of Homeland Security and the Transportation Security Administration posted a market survey on the General Services Adminstration website today.
DHS Posts Survey Prior to Bids on .357 SIG Duty Ammunition 100 3546.357 SIG.
“The purpose of this questionnaire is to obtain information on commercial industry capability to satisfy U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Requirements for .357 SIG caliber training ammunition,” the post states.
.357 SIG is billed as preferred pistol ammo by law enforcement and is lauded for its “stopping power.” The Virginia State Police report that attacking dogs have been stopped dead in their tracks by a single shot, whereas the former 147 grain 9 mm duty rounds would require multiple shots to incapacitate the animals, according to The Gun Digest Book of Combat Handgunnery.
Infowars.com has reported on numerous bids put out by the government for various weapons and millions of rounds of ammunition.
In July, we reported on a Department of Homeland Security plan to buy Colt LE901 rifle system. “The 901 is much more than your typical assault rifle,” notes the Prepper Podcast Radio Network website. The weapon will allow “the DHS/FEMA foot soldier to go from an assault rifle to picking off ‘terrorists’ at a distance by only changing the upper receiver.”
In June, FedBizOpps.gov listed a “Personal Defense Weapons Solicitation” issued by DHS calling for 5.56x45mm NATO select-fire firearms “suitable for personal defense.” The due date for the solicitation is mid-October of 2012
In April, we reported on the DHS awarding contracts to a munitions company for 450 million rounds of .40 caliber hollow point ammunition. Prior to this, the feds awarded Winchester a five year contract for 200 million rounds of .40 caliber ammunition.
“I could understand if the U.S. military was ordering ammunition in this quantity. When you fight wars you can go through ammunition very rapidly,” the American Dream blog commented following the extraordinary purchase. “But the Department of Homeland Security is only supposed to be shooting at people very rarely.”
Also in April, Paul Joseph Watson reported on the DHS purchasing bullet resistant guard booths. “The purpose behind the bullet proof booths is unknown, but the DHS has publicly announced that it plans to increase the number of unannounced checkpoints manned by TSA VIPR teams and other federal agents beyond the 9300 that were set up last year alone,” Watson wrote at the time.
“It looks like DHS and the feds are gearing up for something big. A growing chorus of urgent voices are warning that the economy will finally implode this year and the result with be social chaos,” we wrote in July.
